Fix Overwatch 2 Error LC-202 (Lost Connection) on Console

Updated: 11/29/2025

You are in the middle of a competitive match, and suddenly you are staring at the login screen. 'Lost Connection to Game Server. (LC-202)'. This specific error code is exclusive to Console players (PlayStation/Xbox/Switch). It indicates a desynchronization between your console's network permissions and the Battle.net account linked to it.

Method 1: Unlink and Re-link Battle.net

The security token linking your PlayStation/Xbox account to Blizzard might be corrupted.

Step 1: Go to Battle.net

Log in to your Blizzard account on a web browser (phone or PC).

Step 2: Connections

Go to Account Settings > Connections.

Step 3: Disconnect

Find your console (PlayStation Network or Xbox Live) and click Disconnect. Wait 15 minutes. Launch the game on your console and re-link the account. This refreshes the license.

Method 2: Fix NAT Type (Strict NAT)

Overwatch 2 demands an Open or Moderate NAT. If your NAT is Strict (Type 3), you will get LC-202 constantly.

Test: Go to Console Settings > Network > Test Internet Connection. If NAT Type is 3 or Strict, this is the problem.

To fix this, enable UPnP in your router settings, or place your console in the router's DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) to bypass the firewall entirely.

Method 3: The 'Looking Glass' Test

Blizzard has a tool to check if your ISP is dropping packets.

Go to battle.net/support/article/34785 (Looking Glass). Select 'Overwatch' and your region. Run the test. If you see Packet Loss > 1%, the issue is your physical internet line, not the game. You may need to call your ISP or switch to an Ethernet cable.
