Fix Pinterest Images Not Loading (Blank/Grey Screen)

Updated: 11/29/2025

You open Pinterest to find inspiration, but instead of colorful pins, you see a wall of grey, empty boxes. Or maybe the app opens, but images remain blurry forever. This is a Content Delivery (CDN) failure. It means your device downloaded the 'layout' of the page, but something blocked the actual image files from downloading.

Method 1: Clear App Cache (Mobile)

Pinterest caches every single image you scroll past. This cache can grow to gigabytes, causing the image loader to crash.

Step 1: Profile Settings

Go to your Profile tab. Tap the Hexagon/Gear icon in the top right.

Step 2: Privacy & Data

Tap Privacy and data.

Step 3: Clear Cache

Scroll to the bottom and tap Clear app cache. You will see a confirmation message 'Cache cleared'. Close and reopen the app.

Method 2: Disable Aggressive AdBlockers

Pinterest 'Promoted Pins' (Ads) look exactly like normal pins to an ad-blocker. Sometimes, extensions like uBlock Origin or AdGuard accidentally block all pins because they can't tell the difference.

Test: Pause your ad blocker and refresh the page. If the images load, whitelist pinterest.com.

Method 3: Flush DNS (Website Users)

If the website works on your phone but not your WiFi, your ISP's DNS lookup for the Pinterest image server is broken.

ipconfig /flushdns

Run this in your Command Prompt to force your computer to find a new route to the image servers.
