Fix 'We had some trouble getting to Reddit' (CDN Error)
Updated: 11/29/2025
You click a thread from Google, but instead of the discussion, you get a sad Snoo mascot and the text: 'We had some trouble getting to Reddit.'. Sometimes it says 'CDN Error' or just spins forever. This is usually a connectivity issue between your browser and Reddit's Content Delivery Network (Fastly), often triggered by aggressive ad-blockers or a corrupted DNS cache.

Method 1: Use Old Reddit (The Bypass)
The modern Reddit UI (Redesign) is heavy and prone to crashes. The legacy site is pure HTML and almost never fails.
Step 1: Edit the URL
In your browser address bar, change www.reddit.com to:
Hit Enter. If this loads, the issue is definitely with the modern UI's javascript scripts being blocked by your browser.
Method 2: Clear 'Snoo' Cookies
Reddit session tokens can get 'stuck', making the server think you are half-logged-in.
Step 1: Site Settings
Click the Lock Icon next to the URL bar in Chrome/Edge > Cookies and site data.
Step 2: Delete
Click the Trash Can next to reddit.com. Reload the page. You will be logged out, but the site should load.
Method 3: Disable Tracking Prevention
Firefox and Edge have strict 'Enhanced Tracking Protection' that hates Reddit's trackers.
- Firefox: Click the Shield icon in the URL bar. Toggle the switch to OFF for this site.
- Edge: Click the Lock icon > 'Tracking Prevention' > Turn it off for Reddit.
