Fix Fortnite 'Successfully Logged Out' Infinite Loop
Updated: 11/29/2025
You launch Fortnite, it says 'Logging in...', and then immediately kicks you back to the start screen with the message: 'Successfully Logged Out'. You try again. Same result. This is an authentication loop caused by corrupted web cache files inside the Epic Games Launcher. The launcher thinks you are logged in, but the game thinks you are logged out, so they fight each other.

Method 1: Delete the 'WebCache' Folder
The launcher uses a built-in web browser to handle logins. Clearing its cache fixes 99% of login loops.
Step 1: Close Epic
Make sure the Epic Games Launcher is fully closed (check the system tray).
Step 2: Run Command
Press Win + R, type %localappdata%, and hit Enter.
Step 3: Delete
Go to EpicGamesLauncher > Saved. Delete the folder named webcache. (If you see 'webcache_4147', delete that too). Restart the launcher.
Method 2: Flush Windows Credentials
Windows might be remembering an old, expired password token.
- Open Start > Type Credential Manager.
- Click Windows Credentials.
- Scroll down to 'Generic Credentials'. Look for anything starting with
EpicGames. - Expand it and click Remove.
Method 3: Change Default Browser
Epic uses your default browser to verify 2FA. If you use a niche browser (like Opera GX or Brave) with strict shields, the handshake fails.
Temporarily set Microsoft Edge or Chrome as your default browser in Windows Settings. Try logging in again.
