Fix Genshin Impact Stuck on 'Verifying File Integrity'

The update downloaded successfully, but now the launcher is stuck at 'Verifying file integrity...' for hours. Or it loops between 99% and 100%. This happens because the HoYoverse launcher struggles to unzip the massive game archives on slower CPUs or hard drives with limited space.

Method 1: Manual Unzip (Bypass the Launcher)

The launcher is just a fancy unzipping tool. You can do its job manually.

Step 1: Find the Zip Files

Go to your installation folder: Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game.

Step 2: Look for Zips

You will see files ending in .zip or .001. Ensure the download is complete (check the file size matches the update size).

Step 3: Extract

Use 7-Zip or WinRAR to extract the files right there in the folder. Once extracted, delete the zip files to save space, and run GenshinImpact.exe directly.

Method 2: Allow Through Firewall

Sometimes Windows Defender blocks the 'Verification' process because it looks like a program scanning your entire drive.

Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage settings > Exclusions

Add the entire Genshin Impact folder to the exclusion list. Restart the launcher.

Method 3: Space Check

Verification requires double the space of the update (one copy for the zip, one for the unzipped file). If your update is 10GB, you need 20GB free.

Tip: Clear your Recycle Bin or move videos to an external drive to free up at least 30GB of breathing room.
