Fix TikTok 'No Internet Connection' (But WiFi Works)
Updated: 11/29/2025
You open TikTok, but the For You Page is blank. A banner at the top says 'No Internet Connection. Tap to retry'. But here is the confusing part: your WiFi is working fine. YouTube works, Instagram works, everything works except TikTok. This is a 'Zombie App' state where TikTok's internal session token has desynced from your actual network adapter.

Method 1: Clear App Cache (Inside App)
TikTok stores a massive amount of video cache (sometimes gigabytes) that can get corrupted.
Step 1: Profile
If the app lets you navigate, go to your Profile tab.
Step 2: Settings
Tap the three lines (hamburger menu) > Settings and privacy.
Step 3: Free Up Space
Scroll down to 'Free up space'. Tap Clear next to Cache. Restart the app.
Method 2: The 'Airplane' Cycle
You need to force the phone to request a new IP address from the cell tower or router.
- Close TikTok completely (swipe it away).
- Turn on Airplane Mode. Wait 10 seconds.
- Turn off Airplane Mode.
- Open TikTok immediately. This forces a fresh handshake with the TikTok servers.
Method 3: Reset APN Settings (Android)
If you are on mobile data, your Access Point Name (APN) might be outdated.
Step 1: Mobile Networks
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.
Step 2: Reset
Tap the three dots in the corner and select 'Reset to default'. Your phone will disconnect from 5G/4G for a moment and then reconnect with clean settings.
